Archaeological and Historical Evidence

Ancient Prophets in the America's taught Old Testament scriptures to the Book of Mormon people.

“...the plates of brass...did contain the five books of Moses, which gave an account of the creation of the world, and also of Adam and Eve...;   (1 Nephi 5:10-11)  Between 600 BC & 592 BC
“...these plates of brass... contain… the Holy Scriptures…”  (Alma 37:3)  About 73 BC  
“...Ammon...began at the creation of the world, and also the creation of Adam, and told him all the things concerning the fall of man, and rehearsed and laid before him the records and the holy scriptures ....” (Alma 18:36)  About 90 BC
“...Aaron...began from the creation of Adam, reading the scriptures unto the king—how God created man after his own image, and that God gave him commandments, and that because of transgression, man had fallen.   And Aaron did expound unto him the scriptures from the creation of Adam....”   (Alma 22:12-13)  Between 90 BC & 77 BC
“…it would not be by flood, as were the people in the days of Noah…”  (Alma 10:22)  About 82 B.C.
“...Jared came forth with his brother and their families... from the great tower, at the time the Lord confounded the language of the people....”  (Ether 1:33)

When Hernandez Cortez, the Spanish Conquistadors and Catholic Bishops and Priests, came to the “new World".  They found that these Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas already knew about many of the very things in the scriptures that they were trying to teach them. 
These early explorers, Catholic Bishops and other representatives from the Catholic church wondered why these people in the new World already had knowledge and information about many events recorded in the Old Testament? Lehi's family, as recorded on the Book of Mormon plates, obtained the "Plates of Brass" from Laban who lived in Jerusalem. 
They brought these plates with them to the Americas in 600 BC. 
      
[These "Plates of Brass" contained some of the Old Testament scriptures that we have in the Bible today.]

Even after over 1000 years, there is still historical and archaeological evidence that these ancient Book of Mormon people, who lived in the Americas before Columbus, had knowledge of what was in the Old Testament.  They still had some information about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Noah and the ark, the flood, the Tower of babel, the Prophet Moses and Ten Commandments.
