Our Fathers Once Had a Sacred Book

"And now I, Mormon...  did take up all the records which Ammaron had hid up unto the Lord.  (Mormon 4:23)   375-380 A.D
"...I had made an abridgment from... the records which had been delivered into my hands...."  (Words of Mormon 1:3)  About 385 A.D.

Ixtlilxochitl, a native Indian prince who lived near Mexico City, knew that there had been “divine books” in Mesoamerica in very early times. He tells of the compilation of a "divine book" by a man called "Huematzin".

Ixtlilxochitl gives a particular date for the lifetime of Huematzin, which was the year 400 after the true birth of Christ. According to Ixtlilxochitl, the divine book of Hematzin, covers a period from the creation until their time in century XII DC.

“According to the Aztec chronicles…[Huematzin]…owned many sacred books…” (Wikipedia 2013 Huematzin)
