To the Jaredites this "Hill" was called "Ramah"  (Ether 15:11)
To the Nephites this same "Hill" was called
"Cumorah"  (Mormon 6:6)
Evidence indicates that this "Hill" is located in Mexico and is now called "Cerro Vigia".

The area around the New York "Hill Cumorah" does not fit in with the geographical descriptions of the hill called “Cumorah” in the Book of Mormon.

Archaeological and Geographical comparison of actual physical areas and geographical information contained in the Book of Mormon gives evidence that the hill "Cumorah" in New York, is not the same "Hill Cumorah" that is talked about in the Book of Mormon.
Evidence indicates that there are two different hills, in two different locations.
1st.
The "hill Cumorah" in the Book of Mormon, located in Mesoamerica.
2nd.
Another hill in our day that has also been named “Cumorah”, located in the State of New York.

Research around the hill called “Cumorah,” in the state of New York, has failed to produce any pre-1000 AD archaeological evidence of large battles or ruins in the area.
Whereas the hill and surrounding area around the hill called “Cerro Vigia”  in Mexico, does have an abundance of pre-1000 AD archaeological artifacts.

----------------------
"...the hill Ramah; and it was that same hill where my father Mormon did hide up the records unto the Lord, which were sacred."
  (Ether 15:11)

A part of the many "records" or a "few" of the many "plates"  that were placed in the New York/Hill Cumorah
"...I made this record out of the plates of Nephi, and hid up in the [Mesoamerica] hill Cumorah all the records which had been entrusted to me by the hand of the Lord, save it were these few plates which I gave unto my son Moroni." (Mormon 6:6)

The Hill "Cerro Vigia"

<<The Hill Vigia, 2708 feet elevation.  From the, "top of the hill Cumorah", Mormon could see "the ten thousand of my people who were hewn down...."  (Mormon 6:11)
 ----------------------

"...the hill Cumorah; and it was in a land of many waters, rivers, and fountains..." (Mormon 6:4)

<< A "river"
with the "Hill Vigia in the back ground.

<< One of many "streams" near the "Hill Vigia.

<< Looking at the Valley below.
Mormon "did behold"..."from the top of  the Hill Cumorah, the ten thousand of my people who were hewn down..."   (Mormon 6:11)

You can definitely see from the top of the Hill Vigia a massive amount of area that would enable someone to be able to see tens of thousands of people.  The hill in New York call “Cumorah” does not have such a massive area of view.
